Today, On 29 August Monday, a Telecom giant from India, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) hosted the 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM). The keynote of this virtual event was started by Reliance Chairman and Managing Director of RIL, Mukesh Ambani. During his speech, Ambani announced forthcoming plans for Jio, especially with broadband and Jio 5G.


During their event Reliance Jio announced the 5G infrastructure roll-out plans. They have also announced a few new services like Jio AirFiber and Jio Cloud PC. Let’s take a look at the Highlights of Reliance Jio AGM 2022.

Reliance Jio 5G

The major announcement of Reliance Jio AGM 2022 was the 5G infrastructure rollout and of course, that was the most expected one. As Reliance Jio has acquired the majority of 5G spectrums in recently concluded auctions in India and ended as the highest bidder of the auction.


The Jio 5G services named Jio True 5G, will be available in India starting Diwali 2022 which is the last week of October this year. The Jio 5G services will initially be available for a few metro cities of the country. By the end of 2023, Reliance Jio planning to spread all over India covering all cities, talukas, and towns. Reliance Jio also stated that Jio Ture 5G service will be based on stand-alone 5G Architecture (SA) which means they have zero dependencies on its 4G network.

Reliance Jio AirFiber

Reliance Jio has announced a new wireless service device called AirFiber, It is a wireless single-device solution that provides broadband at home wirelessly. This device is more like JioFi but with better speed, which is enough to compete with regular broadband. This will be an end-to-end broadband service that can be easily set up as a hotspot.

Reliance Jio Cloud PC

Reliance Jio has announced a new service called Jio Cloud PC which is nothing but a virtual PC. The faster speed of the 5G network will enable users to stream all their computing work from any remote location. With this service, users don’t need to worry about upfront investments or upgradation tension. The user just needs to pay the amount as per their usage of the service. Jio Cloud PC will give the experience and power of single or multiple PC to Indian users, so the users can experience this without purchasing big and bulky devices or getting tangled in wires. Users just need to get a small set-top box-like device for this service. Educational institutes or schools will get benefit from this device.
